While traditional Chinese martial arts does not have a ranking or grading system, at the Canadian Wingchun Fellowship we found it important to implement a system to ensure that every student recieves the complete system.

At the Canadian Wingchun Fellowship we have two 'schools' of training. The school of learning, which focuses on teaching the system to those interested in the art of Wing Chun, and the school of Coaching, which focuses on how to teach the art to others. Students are only able to graduate to the school of coaching after completing the requirements of the school of learning. The time and duration of training at each level is dependant on the student's 'gung fu' training, and understanding. At the Canadian Wingchun Fellowship, we believe that ranks are earned through hardwork, dedication, conduct and spirit. As such, ranks are not given freely, nor should they be expected by the student. It is more important that a student enjoys the journey of understanding, and excellence than the objective of attaining rank.
