Quick Links: Sifu Chan Cheuk Yiu / Lineage With the encouragement and support of Grandmaster Chan, the Canadian WingChun Fellowship was founded by Chuck O'Neill (Chan Cheuk Yiu), in 2005 to help pass on the art of Wing Chun from the Yip Man - Moy Yat - Nelson Chan line. At the Canadian WingChun Fellowship, we focus on teaching Ving Tsun through the use of good body mechanics, and principles found in physics. The Canadian WingChun Fellowship follows the tradition of Chinese martial arts with a modern approach. Promoting a fun, and relaxed learning atmosphere, with good training. As a traditional Chinese martial art, the Canadian WingChun Fellowship teaches that through martial arts training, our goal and primary focus is to seek to improve ourselves, and to learn valuable self-defense as a by-product of our training.
The Canadian WingChun Fellowship is a member of the Wingchun Sport Association of Ontario, and a proud member of the Christian Wushu Fellowship. |

During his teenage years, he spent 3 years in Tae Kwon Do (Jong Park Tae Kwan Do) (a knee injury prevented him from pursuing the art further). During his college years, he met an amateur boxer, and was taught elements of Western boxing. After graduating from college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Sifu Chuck later pursued training in Kosho Ryu Kenpo for 3 years under Hanshi Rick Buchan. After becoming a Christian in 1997, he continued training in martial arts, but started praying that he could find a system of martial arts that was based on scientific principles and taught by a Christian instructor. He later moved to Kitchener, Ontario in 1998 and stopped training in martial arts because of the heavy influences of eastern mystism. He was later introduced to Wing Chun by a friend, and his love for Wing Chun gung fu began. Sifu Chuck began searching for books, videos, and the internet for any information he could find on Ving Tsun. While looking for a Mook Yan Jong (Wooden dummy) to help in his pursuit of Wing Chun gung fu, he met Grandmaster Nelson Chan a Christian Wing Chun Sifu from the Yip Man - Moy Yat line in late 1999. From their first
meeting, Chuck knew he found his answer to prayer, and his sifu. Sifu
